Healthcare Advantage Training Institute
I am a very curious person and almost everything interests me. This resulted to me, like many others, not knowing what I wanted to pursue after high school (I wanted to do so much all at the same time) I finally settled with Nursing, a course my parents chose for me. Out of all the options I had back then (BS Biology and Multimedia arts, among others) I chose Nursing because I found it the most practical. I felt the need to re-tell this story (something an old reader might have read over a thousand times already) because last March 26th, I got to attend my first Nursing/Health science related event in my almost four years of being a blogger.
I was invited, along with a couple of Registered Nurses, to a bloggers lounge hosted by the Health Care Advantage Training Institute. HCAI (established 2007) is a training center that’s dedicated to helping improve the delivery of patient care in the healthcare industry. HCAI is one of the top Training Centers in the Philippines that is accredited by American Heart Association (AHA) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) They offer courses on Intensive Care Nursing, Home Care Nursing, Physical Assessment (Intensive), Telemetry, Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid and CPR, Advance Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
After a lunch buffet and orientation slash getting to know each other, we were toured around the institution. At school, we were taught of the importance of being well rounded individuals and soon to be professionals, and this includes having appropriate knowledge, effective skills and proper attitude. Nothing is new to me since we have similar set ups and laboratories at school, but I got to hand it to HCAI because they really make sure that all their equipment are up to date. I also got amused at how they have equipment used in a public hospital setting as well as the ideal ones used in private hospitals. I happen to think that this is very critical because being a nurse means you have to be flexible, that in whatever situation you will be put in, one will still be able to function in their most efficient and effective state. Another thing I like about HCAI is how they have a simulation Ambulance on site. One of their key courses is their Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, and having such settings can really help the students in actually getting a ‘feel’ on what being inside a real ambulance is supposed to be like (limited space, time pressure and the likes) But most of all, what I really love about HCAI is how passionate the administration is about giving quality continuing education thus providing quality patient care. Listening to Mr. Armand Del Rosario, the president of HCAI talk is just like listening to my professors talk about how fulfilling being a nurse actually is, and how more fulfilling it would be if it is done with passion.
HCAI is offering various promos this summer!
I’ll be giving away gift certificates for their courses soon! In the mean time, you can reach HCAI by going to 4 United St. corner First Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City or calling (02)695-3649, 09158158553 or 09297208837. You can also visit their website, Facebook and Twitter.
