I have always been a low maintenance girl. I never wear a lot of make up unless I really have to, so imagine my surprise when Mixologist Beauty sent me a package. Before anything else though, let me give you a little background info on Mixologist Beauty.
Mixologist Beauty is a small scale cosmetic company owned and managed by Jeannie Ombania. All of their products went under careful research and formulated only with the most natural, organic and high-grade ingredients (100% of which are imported from the US) So what makes Mixologist different from other cosmetic companies? The bullets will tell you why!
This happened months ago, and I am only blogging about this now because I wanted to test the products themselves before recommending it to you guys. The package came in this really quirky silver foil. I couldn’t help but remember those little packages astronauts eat from (I’ve dreamed of becoming one when I was a little kid haha!) They sent me their Loose Powder Mega Haul package after asking me to pick the shades I wanted. The mega haul package included:
1 Mineral Powder Foundation (8g net wt.) in Mirrored Sponge Jar
1 Mineral Color Corrector (1.5g net wt.)
1 Mineral Bronzer (2.5g net wt.)
1 Mineral Blush (2.5g net wt.)
1 Mineral Eyeliner (.8g net wt.)
1 Mineral Eye Highlighter (.8g net wt.)
1 Mineral Eyeshadow (.8g net wt.-matte/.5g net wt.-shimmer)
1 Baby Kabuki Brush
1 Dual Tipped Brush
Most of their products are mineral make ups. You can read about the benefits of mineral makeup versus traditional make up here. Also, opting to get their mega haul package rather than getting each product individually will save you 165 pesos! Isn’t that awesome?

Anyway, let me now tell you about my experience with their products.
Disclaimer: I am no make up expert and I am speaking purely from experience.

Mineral Powder Foundation - If there’s one make up product I am very picky about, it’s foundation. I’ve been using the studio fix powder foundation from M.A.C. prior to Mixologist, and I must say, it’s not a bad jump. I use this on school days, and I never (if rarely) needed to retouch. Considering that I am a nursing student and our schedules are pretty busy. It lasts the whole day! Also, it gives great coverage without feeling heavy. I chose the shade Soft Earth because it was the one nearest to my skin tone. I do not use the sponge applicator, though. I feel it gives out too much product (that or I pat to hard haha!) I just remove the sponge, turn it over and place it on the cap and dip my brush. The only thing I recommend is that they produce more shades. But over all, this is a great product. Oh and have I mentioned that I’ve had the 8g pot with me for almost six months and I still haven’t consumed half of the pot yet? I highly recommend it! :)
6g - 310php; 8g - 465php

Mineral Blusher - I chose Peach Parfait because peach and apricot colors are the blush shades that best compliment my morena skin tone. This is another great product because you only need a tiny amount (As in. A very tiny amount lang) to give your cheeks that much needed color. The product is highly pigmented and I suggest you start with a little first then build up the layers until you’re satisfied with the color.
Matte - 210php; Shimmer - 240php

Mineral Bronzer - Sometimes when I don’t feel like putting blusher on, I just apply bronzer. I chose the shade Gold Flecks. Honestly, there are days when I like it better than the blusher itself. It gives you that healthy glow you can never really get from your basic blusher. Plus it looks more natural! Also, if you’re into contouring, the darker shades (Strong Coffee and Too much Sun) can be used as contour powders too!
Mineral Bronzer - 220php

Mineral Color Corrector - This is probably my favorite product in their line of cosmetics. I already did a review on Ray of Sunshine here and I have yet to try Mint Tea (Thank you for sending this one too!) so I’ll just update this post when I do. Anyway, Mixologist recently launched their pressed powders, so you now have the choice of getting this in loose or pressed powder form.
Loose Powder - 200php; Pressed Powder - 250php

Mineral Eyeshadow - I have yet to learn how to properly apply eyeshadow, so I don’t really have much to say here. I chose the shade Terracota Burn (Matte) If I were to choose a shade again, I would choose Violet Soak (it was the shade Bea used on me for the tutorial we made. Watch out for that post okay!) I tested these on my arms and they are true to color and are highly pigmented.
Matte and Shimmer - 150php
