A series of firsts

First of all, I would just like to say that I am now officially a convert! Because of the shoot I modeled for Love Preloved Shoppe’s latest collection, I discovered that I can indeed wear colors. If you would take a look at my closet right now, you would discover that 75% of my clothes are in black. Thank you Chris and Greg for opening my eyes! I shall now invest in more colorful pieces. I absolutely cannot wait! :D

Anyway, I entitled this post “A series of firsts” because aside from this being my first time to wear neon, it was also my first time to experience a pick pocket-er. I almost lost my wallet at the jeepney earlier this morning. Here’s how it happened.

I saw my classmate slash dutymate Yce on the jeepney. There was an elderly woman sitting next to her and another woman sitting next to the old lady. I sat down in between them (Yce and the old lady) for very obvious reasons. Haha! The jeepney was empty except for the four of us. I do not know why I hadn’t even suspected anything when they (the old lady and the woman beside her) didn’t move over. Eh ang luwag kaya sa jeep. Along the way, I felt something hitting my right arm. Dinudutdot ni Lola sa akin yung malaki niyang payong. Yce and I were talking about school stuff that time. So fast forward to a few minutes later, we were about to go down. Yce said “Para” and that’s when realized my bag was open. I said, “Yce. Wait nawawala wallet ko” I shoved my hand inside my bag and felt for my wallet. I didn’t find anything. For some unexplainable reason though, luck was with me that time. I looked around and found my wallet tucked behind the old lady. I immediately took it and went down. The funny thing was, when we were about to go down, the old lady was motioning the jeepney to stop, too. It was just my luck that she didn’t go down before us lest I would have really lost my wallet. So here are the lessons I learned today:

1. Never announce in public that you are “inaantok” and “pagod” Don’t even look like it, either. You will become an instant target for pick pockets. Stay alert and awake.

2. Always be wary of your environment. Pick whom to trust.

3. Always check your belongings. This has become a habit of mine and it has proven to be very helpful in a lot of events already.

What our Lolos and Lolas say is true - iba na talaga ang panahon ngayon. Always be careful in everything you do. No one else will look out for you but yourself.

Keep safe, everyone! Good night! :)

Jeepney ride on my way back to school:

Old woman (sitting in front of me): Bisaya ka ba?

Me: *Surprised* Hindi po.

-Silence-

Old Woman: Misis ka na ba?

Me: *WHUT?* Hindi po. *:(*

Old Woman: Ineng, wag ka sasakay ng FX. Kanina yung dalawa kong katabi, natanggalan ng bra. Ako hindi na kasi matanda na ako. Nawalan ako ng 1000. Sa Supreme Court ako nagtatrabaho dati.

Me: *Nods slowly*

Old Woman: Kung bisaya ka sana hihingi ako ng tulong. May 150 ka ba dyan?

Me: Wala po.

Old Woman: Ano? Hindi kita marinig *Smiles* Tabihan mo nga ako dito *pats seat next to her* Hindi kasi kita marinig.

Me: *GOTCHA* Hindi po, malapit na po ako bumaba.

Old Woman: *Seemed irritated* Nag-aaral ka pa ba?

Me: Opo.

Old Woman: Graduate ka na?

Me: Hindi pa po. Kuya, para po.

Old Woman: Mag-iingat ka ha.

Me: *chilled to the bonez*

NOTES

 • May presyo na pala ang paghingi ng tulong ngayon? I didn’t know.
 • Bakit parang hindi ka naman nabiktima. Mas makalma ka pa kaysa sa akin. :(
 • I respect my elders. I am naturally friendly. It was my mistake to have answered your questions in the first place. I was keeping a pleasant face all the while, but deep inside I was really creeped out. SCARY :(
 • BAKIT KAMUKHA MO YUNG LAST WITCH NA BINITAY SA *SEASON OF THE WITCH :(((( This freaked me out because the encounter happened after I watched the movie. /paranoia

P.S. MUKHA NA BA AKONG MISIS? :((

I just wanted to share some laughs :D Taken today using a camera phone. (sorry) :) FLYUVER! :D
Also, I read the following statements while riding the jeepney, and laughed :))
Walang masikip sa driver na mapilit.
Hatak mo, Hinto ko.
By the way, can anyone enlighten me whether the “hatak mo, hinto ko” in jeepneys really work?
