A thank you post

Some never before seen photos from a shoot I had some months ago. All photos by Jash Manuel. Hair and make up by Thea Del Rivera.

Hello you guys! This is going to be a first for my blog, but I would just like to take this moment and dedicate a blog post to two of my dearest friends, Keziah and Jash Manuel who are now en route to Dublin.

I first met Jash during an open shoot by Shutterbox Heroes. I met him through Kath (who I first met also during that shoot) Hearing (or rather, reading) his name on my blog isn’t really something new because he has been my ‘official’ photographer ever since I started taking modeling seriously. I don’t know why or how the following events happened, but Jash and I became really close. I think it has something to do about the things we have in common. We both love books, photography, fashion and the inevitable - food. There were even those times when a day simply cannot past without us talking to each other. It was only recently that we somewhat loss communication, partly due to both of us being busy all the time but that really didn’t affect our friendship so much, especially since they (Keziah and Jash) live five minutes away from my school.

Keziah (Jash’s little sister) and I first met after one of my photo shoots. She was waiting for Jash at a mall and she asked him if she could meet me. Turns out Keziah reads my blog and has wanted to meet me since. And the rest, as they say, is history. At present, Keziah is like a little sister to me (I actually self proclaimed myself as their adopted sibling haha!) She does things any younger sibling would normally do - nag at you, annoy you, tease you. But like a real sibling, no matter how impossibly irritating they may be, at the end of the day, you still love them the same way.

It’s pretty ironic how the three of us spent such long hours together, yet don’t have a lot of photos together. I hope the following would suffice! Maybe this is a reminder that we should take more group photos next time. Haha!

Jash and Kez, if you’re reading this, know that I love the both of you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much for all the things you’ve done for me and for my blog (alam niyo yan!) I never expected we would be this close as friends, but know that I am very thankful. Have fun in Ireland and always take care! Don’t forget to bring me leprechauns and four leaf clovers when you get home in June! :P

To the rest of you guys, I hope you all had a wonderful Easter Sunday! Thank you so much for reading! :)

P.S. Join my ongoing giveaways! I’m giving out necklaces and a pair of shoes. Best of luck to everyone who joined!

Hi there! So today was pretty eventful. I went to school two hours before my actual schedule and stayed at the library to study for my Maternity finals (because I fell asleep last night. What’s new haha!) I finished the exam early so I (together with Ana) went on our way to find our elusive (hahaha) Pharmacology professor to get our grades. Pharmacology is by far the hardest subject I have ever taken and although I know I didn’t do badly, I still can’t help but feel nervous. So imagine my relief when my professor said I passed. Haha. Grabe. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko kapag sinabi niyang mag-reremovals ako. I want to finish Nursing without taking removal exams, eh! So anyway, after that I met up with Dash (who just finished the exam) and we went to lunch at our favorite place near St. Luke’s (for our daily dose of garlic chicken haha) Then we went to Gateway to pay bills and to cash out money from Globe.
Anyway, the whole morning I was thinking of what I could do to kill time during my break. I remembered that I have been dying to go thrift shopping again, so I texted Isabelle (psycholust) for the details on the whereabouts of the shops, how to get there, etcetera (expert kasi siya, guys. Hahaha. Hi Ish!) I also texted Jash because he also told me about Anonas one time. So fast forward to a few hours later, Jash, Dash and me were on our way to thrift heaven.
The photo above are the things I got. The whole time I was telling myself (and my companions as well) that I will avoid picking up black colored articles as much as possible. If you would take a look at my closet right now, majority of my clothes are in black. I have nothing against black by the way. It’s a classic color and it will never run out of style, but since it’s summer and I’m itching to wear color (hello to trying out a new style) I promised myself I would be stocking on colors this time. And hooray for that because I went home with these pretty things, and I only took home one black item! Achieve! Haha. My favorite find today would be the Ombre shirt in the middle. It’s just perfection and the moment I plucked it out of the racks, I knew it was made for me. Also, notice that I haven’t gotten gold out of my system yet, so here’s another favorite find - a gold bomber jacket. Oh diba! :D

See that blue tote bag over there? It’s given by Daphne of FBTL Manila! It’s always in my bag in case of events where I need extra storage. Today it turned into a handy shopping bag! Haha. Thank you Daphne for this! :)

And to end the day, Jash introduced Dash and me to Edward’s kwek kwek!I found the whole experience very entertaining, especially because the owner (Edward) is really nice. He remembers all of his customers plus their life stories, and keeps updated with them. I think he mentioned about the immersion trip of the juniors from our college because he recognized our uniforms! Wala lang na-amaze lang ako! Hahaha. P.S. Hindi ako maarte sa pagkain! Game ako sa mga ganito. Thank you Dash and Jash for today!
And that’s it. How about you? What’s your favorite thrift find? Talk to me and leave a comment below! Thank you for reading! :)

BTS February 24, 2012

Last Friday I went to University of Santo Tomas to model for an online shop, Serial Apparel. This is the third shop I got to model for so far (and my second shoot for this year) and I am really grateful for the shop owners who trust me enough to ask me to model for them. And with that, I would like to thank Thea Conception for this wonderful opportunity! She first approached me to make a banner for her blog, then she asked me to model for her shop. Oh the opportunities my layout maker side give me. :)

So anyway, let’s move on. Remember this post? After all the hullabaloo about the postponement of our Pharmacology finals, we (me, Dasha and Krizia) rushed back to Capital to change clothes. We went up to Jash’s unit after to get my make up done. Whenever I don’t have a make up artist available, my good friend Krizia is always there to the rescue. She used to photograph me a lot in the past but now she’s my go to emergency make up artist. Dear bebe, if you’re reading this, please know that you are good at what to do. Thank you for always doing my make up (with your train case full of expensive make up. Haha!)

Now here’s a photo of me and my other bebe, Dasha! Dasha is by far my most fashionable nursing friend. I suggest you follow her blog. I swear she always says she’s ‘low key’ but I don’t believe a word of it. Haha. By the way, she took all of the photos on this post. Thanks bebe for coming with me and taking behind the scenes! :D

Now let’s move on to the photos!

The first set we took in the botanical garden. Thea chose it because it was the place nearest to the comfort room. I had a Déjà vu moment because the comfort room was full of mosquitoes (like the shoot I had at Betty Go Del Monte) Therefore, I had an epiphany that I must always bring mosquito repellant (whether or not I have a shoot) Anyway, Jash (or Dash) suggested that we shoot at the Quadri. I had to walk back to the comfort room near the botanical garden in between sets (effort teh) pero keribams lang! I just think people got a bit weirded out. Kaloka! Haha. So anyhow, here are some more photos from the other sets!

I love the necklace. Girls, paunahan na ito sa release ng collection! Haha!

Hi Jash! Follow him too! He takes really good shots and knows all of my angles. He’s also open to shooting bloggers by the way, so if you want to shoot with him, just send him a message (Ayan Jash. Ganyan ako ka-proud sayo! Haha!)

P.S. It was only later that I discovered that there were law students inside the building above. And all the while I was using the windows as mirrors. Nakakahiya lang po! Hahaha!

“Head turner moment”

I don’t want to sound vain and assuming but I’d like to share a rather funny story that happened while this set was being shot.

Jash: *Across the street, taking shots* Okay. Good. One more.

Me: *pose, pose, pose*

Cars passed by

Jash: *Laughing*

Me: *Didn’t want to look stupid so I laughed with him* Hahahaha (I ended up looking stupid though, I think. Haha)

More cars passed by

Jash: *Still laughing*

Me: *Thinking there was something wrong* Bakit ka tawa na tawa? D:

Jash: *Walks over to me* Kasi yung mga driver ng mga dumaang sasakyan, lahat napapatingin sayo. Ang nakakatawa pa diyan, nakalampas na sila, nakalingon pa rin ang ulo. Pati yung naka motor! *Laughs more* Naks. Head turner. ;)

Me: :”>

Okay tama na. Sorry please pagbigyan niyo na ako. Minsan lang naman. Haha! Okay let’s move on. :P

This was the second to the last outfit. By that time everyone (including me) was exhausted but it was all worth it. I have a photo with Thea but it’s still with Jash so I’ll just edit this post when I get the copies.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for (Haha) The whole collection will be released tomorrow (February 27) at 9pm. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. They have really wonderful clothes and even more wonderful bags and accessories. Add them on facebook for updates. See you there! :)

So that’s it! If you reached the end of this post, here’s a hug for your effort! I think that one of the things I can never do is make short blog posts (madaldal ako kapag nagsusulat) I am very thankful to everyone who reads every single word, so if you’re one of those people, thank you so much! >:D<

Join my ongoing giveaways if you haven’t yet!

Please also check out my closet sale here. Lastly, get a chance to win 12 pairs of sneakers or 12 pairs of shoes from Christian Louboutin from Shoephoric! Click here to know how. Hurry! Contest ends in less than 2 weeks! Thank you!

1.21.12 - Outtakes

youmebookbednow:

Did a shoot for LovePreloved Shoppe a few days ago with Charlene modelling  and Thea doing the makeup. I daresay it was fun for all of us.

Greg and Chris

Thea at work

I’ve rarely enjoyed a shoot this much, photos to come in a few.

I agree with Jash when he says “I’ve rarely enjoyed a shoot this much” This has been my funnest shoot so far. Honest to God! I am hoping for more in the future! Anyway, I would love to post some of my behind the scene photos but I guess that will be for another day. I just came home from Batangas! I will probably blog about that in a few (if I don’t pass out, that is) Haha. I hope everyone had a good Monday! :)

P.S. I’m having a giveaway! Check it out here.

Cute as a button

Hype this look “Cute as a button” on Lookbook.nu! Please hit that “fan” button too! <3

Oversized white button up polo - Shop Dainty | Button up skirt - Forever21 | Babydoll Wedges - courtesy of Glamourville | Socks - SM Department Store | Satchel bag - Primadonna | Headband - Thrifted | Necklace - Kisty’s

This was one of the outfits I wore to a photo shoot I had some days ago. This shoot was also a collaboration with my friends Cariza and Jash (I modeled for their portfolios) Anyway, I titled this look “cute as a button” because the main articles I wore here are button up pieces! From my top to the skirt (Thanks BB Cariza for lending me your skirt! I’m surprised to realize I fit in a size zero HAHA!)

Also, sorry for the facial expressions. I was under direct sunlight the time these photos were taken! Haha!

We were going for a “school girl” look. What do you think? :)

Watch up for the rest of the outfit shots! :)
