Good morning! I was supposed to post this outfit last night, but due to exhaustion (and sucky internet connection) I fell asleep. Before that though, I decided to reread another old book of mine, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. This book was too much for my preteen self a few years back, and I honestly never really got to finish it. Last night/morning though, I found it very hard to put down (and humorous, to say the least. I like good humor) but I ended up falling asleep because my eyes hurt too much. I will forever be a bookworm at heart. :)

Moving on, the lovely Mary Ann Sy (Thank you!) of Hubs and Buns sent me a package some days ago. It included this lovely floral skirt. If you would ask me now what my favorite kind of skirt is, I would answer you high waist full skirts. They are simply magical. They make your waist look smaller, your hips wider and your legs longer. Who wouldn’t want that right? Anyway, I will be having a collaboration with Hubs and Buns soon, so watch out for that!

Remember that stupid stunt I mentioned in this post? These were the metal cages I climbed in wedges with, and the same ones I got stuck in the middle while flailing my legs like how a fish who just got out of water looks like. Wala lang baka kasi hindi niyo na-visualize nung unang post ko, eh. Haha! :P

On a semi-related note, I’ve always wanted to have a running shot. The “I’m late for my fashion show. I have to run in heels (but still look fabulous)” kind. Achieve ba? Haha! :P

And to end this post, here is a very cliché photo of me holding a film camera named Emma Stone. I was really taking a photo, by the way. I took a photo of Jash while he took a photo of me taking photos of him. It felt so hipster-ish (what a word haha) and I cannot wait for him to use up all the film and see the prints. :D

That is all. Thank you for reading! Have a nice day ahead! :)

Hello there! In my last post, I said that I would be blogging about our trip to Batangas if I didn’t pass out. Well I did so here I am making up for yesterday’s supposed to be post! Haha! Anyway, let me take you through what happened yesterday with photos! :)

Someone from my Mama’s side of the family died. I wasn’t really supposed to go because 1. I had AM duty the next day, 2. I still haven’t recovered from the week before (PM duty and Midterms week. How I survived I do not know) and 3. because no matter how hard I try I couldn’t set my body clock back on track and ended up reading a book until I fell asleep. So anyway, the following morning my Papa went in my room to make sure I wasn’t coming with them. For some unfathomable reason I went up, showered and dressed while all the while acting (and looking) like a zombie. Sobrang antok and sabaw ko lang! I was the last one to get ready and they were in a hurry to leave, so I didn’t have the time to put make up on (let alone brush my hair!) Haha!

Fact: I can survive without brushing my hair. I can survive without putting make up on. But I cannot, I repeat, cannot survive a long road trip without bringing any food with me. I do not know how I managed to make coffee and stuff tikoy in ziplock bags in less than a minute, but you know, food does that to you. Haha! Also, I just have to say this. I love Tikoy! It was Chinese New Year yesterday so the house was full of it. I wish I could eat Tikoy all year round! :)

Another fact: I love reading books so much that I read books during the times when I’m supposed to be catching up on sleep. I’m currently rereading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I have been rereading a lot of books recently. I’ve had these books since I cannot remember when. I think I had them when I was 15 or so. I reread books because I want a newer perspective, now that I am older. I don’t know if I’m making sense right now, but yeah. Haha! :)

So anyway, here are more photos!

Hello, Batangas!

Big Bulalo pots. I love Bulalo! It’s one of my all time favorite ulam!

When I ran out of food and when my eyes started sending “Cha stop reading we beg you!” messages to my brain, I started taking photos of the fields and the sky. This is another random thing I always do during road trips. I do not know why. I’m so weird haha!

I know this post is so full of “facts” but here’s another one: I haven’t seen the ocean in three or so years (if I remember correctly, that is) The place we went to wasn’t really one of those sandy beaches but I couldn’t help but get excited on seeing the ocean once again. My sibs and I would scream “beach!” in very annoying high pitched voices every time we see a glimpse of ocean water behind the trees and houses. Haha! First time in a long time eh. Pagbigyan! :P

Tommy and Andrei.

This was me screaming (though I doubt you can see it in the photo) when I almost got wet by the water. Please do not think I’m maarte or something. I’m really actually a cowgirl at heart and I’m game for anything. It’s just that I wore the first things I saw in my closet that day (Obvious naman diba? Tingnan niyo naman suot ko. Haha!) and I didn’t even think of bringing slippers so getting wet feet wasn’t an option. Haha! :P

By the way, please excuse the quality of the photos. I still do not have my camera with me. I only used mobile phones for these. (Hire me! I’m raising money to get my camera fixed!) :D

Dear readers, meet zombie Cha. Anyway, this was what I wore. Just got out of bed ang peg! Also, very appropriate ang outfit ko diba! Charot!

Took a photo in the street! I’ve always wanted to do this! Wala kasing masyadong dumadaan. Probinsyang probinsya! :D

Then it was time to go home. I had nothing else to do (again) so I’ll leave you with photos of the sky and sunset.

I’ll be going to sleep now! I still need to wake up early tomorrow (AM duty) I hope everyone had a great day! Good night guys! :D

May the odds be ever in your favor

I’ve always been a fan of book series, but with all the series I’ve read, only three really touched my heart (AKA part of my ultimate favorites) One would be (obviously) the Harry Potter Series, the other would be The Black Magician Trilogy and lastly, The Hunger Games! I seriously cannot thank the person who introduced me to the last two series mentioned enough, so thank you. You know who you are.

Anyway, my assigned occupation is so sexy, noh? (Not!) I’d honestly rather be part of District 11 (don’t ask) or 12 (because of Peeta HAHAHA) and District 13 (because I happen to think their system is awesome) But anyway, you can’t really choose, so :P

March 23, 2012 I am so excited for you! Go and register here for your pass too! :P

Books, awkward bus moments and Mik-Mik

Hi! So today was pretty eventful. Last night/morning I planned to wake up early (6am) so I could go to school and review in the library. I slept at 2am though, so my plan kind of failed. haha! I did wake up at 6am (my little sister noticed I was still in bed haha) but I fell asleep again and the next thing I knew it was already 9:30! My exam starts at 12pm so I did my best to drag myself out of bed. An hour later I was off to school! I will not bore you with the details of my life as a daily commuter so let’s skip this part. Today’s exam was on Maternal and Child Health Nursing. I was pretty confident with my performance because the concepts were all we ever do during our duties. Fast forward to 1:00pm. I had other agendas that day, and one of them was to pass the revised manuscript of our Grand Case Presentation. I, together with Hazel, edited, had three copies of it printed, ring bound and submitted all within an hour. It was a very stressful task but you gotta do what you gotta right? Oh yeah, did I mention I forgot to eat lunch again? haha!

So anyway, while the copies were being bounded, I did a little book shopping! Here’s a random fact: The only thing I love more than bargain clothing is, you guessed it, bargain books! I got three books for 70 pesos at a bookstore near our school. Hard bound books start at 10 pesos! Bonggels!

Also, on my way home I witnessed how the huge Christmas Tree outside Gateway (near the Araneta Coliseum) was being set up. Memories flooded back (uyy) and it just makes me so happy how Christmas is getting nearer! It’s my favorite time of the year!

Pedring

Just some photos from yesterday.

One of our Narra trees fell down yesterday. It was a bit sad because it stood there even before I was born. I remember back when I was little how me and my little brother used to collect the little yellow flowers that fall from it. It was the closest thing to snow that we could get. :)

More photos under the cut :)

If it was meant for you to hold dear and true, someday it will come back to you.

Good morning! If you have been following me on Twitter, you would know that I left some things that are very dear to me (hint: shoes and clothes) at the bus yesterday. I brought stuff because I was supposed to have a shoot that morning (Tuesday) with Krizia after our classes. Anyway, I really cannot understand why I zone out sometimes, but I’d like to believe it’s because I tend to over think things too much. I only remembered I forgot something when I was at school already, and upon that realization I started typing furiously with my phone sending messages to my Mama, Krizia and everyone who I knew could help to ask for the bus company’s contact number. Alas, they found none. So I forced myself to forget about the incident because 1. I was at school and what happens outside school stays out of school and 2. was because I won’t be able to concentrate on the lectures (you all know how much I love shoes /cue heart breaking in two)

Also, school was uneventful yesterday, fortunately or unfortunately. We had a group activity during our Nutrition class, and I spent most of my time shivering all throughout the period. Is my hypothalamus impaired or something? haha! That or I just have a very low cold tolerance! (Fact!) So anyway, after Nutrition class we had a meeting for our upcoming *dundundun* Grand Case Presentations which will be happening sometime in October. Scary sheep! I hope we (Group 1 and 2 of our section) would deliver well! Wish us luck :)

Finally, it was time to go home. I immediately said goodbye to my friends because I was itching to get to the bus stop and ask about my package (I was also hoping I would be on the same bus I was on that morning) Even though my hopes were high, my luck meter wasn’t. It was a good thing though that the driver I ran into was nice. I asked him details on what should be done when someone forgets something at the bus, where to claim it, who to talk to, etc. He directed me to the dispatcher, who asked for the bus ticket I got that morning (to get the bus number) and asked for my contact number as well, and said he will contact me when he sees the package. Which now brings me to another realization: If you do not ask, the answer will always be no. So if you’re in a rut and feel really helpless, go and ask! You never know who will be there to help you out! :)

Bagong gising face. haha!

So now let’s move on to what happened this morning. Today I got up at 7:30am to go to the bus company’s main office to check if the driver/bus conductor surrendered my package. Upon arriving at the location, I was greeted by really friendly faces (those of whom I recognize too) Perks of being a regular commuter - the people know you and you know them. They asked me to wait for a while because the guard on duty with the keys to the office wasn’t there yet. So I (together with our house help) waited. During this period they were talking about all the packages that various commuters left behind. I was amazed at the variety - diapers, clothes, envelopes, files and papers. But what was even more amazing was how honest they were. You know that feeling you get when you watch the news and see a taxi driver surrendering a huge amount of money a passenger left in his possession? Well I experienced that feeling first hand. Two thumbs up for the drivers and other staff of German Espiritu Liner! After that my hopes really got pumped up again. When the guard on duty finally came by and held the door open, my head was screaming “I hope it’s there. Please please please” But, luck still wasn’t with me, and I didn’t see my package anywhere. They advised me to go back by 8:30pm because most buses would be back by that time. I said my thank yous and left with a heavy yet still hopeful heart. Our house help suggested we go check out the terminals then, so I thought, “Why not. There’s nothing for me to lose right now” so I agreed. I remembered the face of the driver well (and his conductor) so he told me to point out if ever I see the driver. My hopes got up again (that’s my nature, sorry) but fell down immediately after seeing another driver. We were about to go home then, UNTIL I SPOTTED ANOTHER BUS COMING IN OUR DIRECTION. I looked at the driver, and this time, I was literally screaming! I excitedly  told our house help “Siya yun! Siya yun!” and we chased the bus until it stopped to let passengers down. I ran (hahaha) and waited for all the people to get down before I approached the driver.

Me: Kuya, may naiwan po ba ako kahapon? Sapatos po.

Driver: Ay oo! Nandito tinago namin. Inaantay ka nga namin eh!

Conductor: *Hands my package to me* Nagmamadali ka yata bumaba kahapon, eh!

Me: Haha! Opo. Salamat po! *Huge smile*

Almost lost you! <3

Victory! Luck was definitely on my side that time, and I’m really very thankful! Thank you to our house help, thank you to the driver and conductor, thanks to you for reading this very long post and reaching this point and thank you God! Kahit kailan hindi mo talaga ako pinabayaan. You always make things better in the end! If it was meant for you to hold dear and true, someday it will come back to you. :D

And since we’re talking about that, let me share a quote I posted some months back:

When you love someone, and you love them with all your heart, it will never disappear. When you’re apart and when you’ve done all you can do, you set them free if you have to. And if that love is true, someday it will all come back to you. (Link to post)

I’ll be waiting. :)

P.S. Currently reading “Playing with Fire” by Peter Robinson. I love finding old books lying around the house! Also, does anyone else feel like time passes by faster when you do reading for leisure rather than for school or something else? haha! :P
