Death by Florals
If you’ve been reading my blog long enough, you would know that I am very new to the print on print trend. I’ve donned my first ever print on print when I went to the Bloggers United 3 (read more on my outfit that day here) and I went at it again last June wearing aztec on aztec. There’s just something about prints that fascinates me (and it isn’t only my being a layout maker, mind you!) so when a lovely package of prints sent by Rhona Dia of Fashion Infinity came in, I just knew I had to do to again - and this time, I went all out floral!
The moment I saw this top I just knew it would go perfectly with my floral shorts from Just G. I think I’ve said this before but one way to make the print on print trend work is to mix pieces that have the same color palette. The unifying element between these two items, to cite an example, would be the small lavender flowers. It’s almost like they were made for each other! Also, notice the unique shape of the top. It’s not only a peplum top, but also a mullet! Come on, three of my most loved trends (floral, peplum and mullet) all in one! Papangunahan ko na kayo. This top is definitely going to be overused. :)
On another note, I’m slowly starting to make certain lifestyle changes e.g. diet and exercises. This is pretty embarrassing considering I’m a nursing student who teaches people to eat, think and breath healthy, but I have never made an attempt to exercise and have a well balanced diet - until now. I hope you won’t think that I’m fishing for compliments when I say that I’ve been gaining weight (because I have been! Honest to goodness!) but my ‘magic metabolism’ is slowly losing its powers (cries) and I’m not getting any younger so I decided it was time to act, and by time I meant now. I started last week (hihihi) and I pray to the heavens to give me all the will power to stick to it. My target areas are my legs, arms and core. I’m turning 20 in a few months (November 28th!) so all you guys who are young (and wild and free, hahaha corny!) don’t take what you have right now for granted! Start living a healthy lifestyle. You’ll appreciate the effects when you’re older. Do it now! Yes, now! :D
And to end this post, here are photos from my current favorite editorial. Words can never xpress how much love I have for this spread! I don’t think I need to explain why. ;) (Photo source)
