BTS January 20, 2012
Hi guys! As most of you already know, last week I modeled for Love Preloved Shoppe’s latest collection. I know this post is super late but I always believe that it’s better late than never! So anyway, here we go! Let me take you through what happened in photos! :)
Let’s start with a photo of me! Haha! The photo above was taken just before I went out of the house. I knew I would be having my make up done at the place itself, so I put on as minimal make up as possible (powder lang and concealer for my ever present eye luggage hahaha) Just enough to make myself look decent. Haha! This is how my hair looks like when it’s unstyled. Also, I kept my clothes real simple because I was going to commute. :)
Moving on, I met up at Ayala MRT Station with Thea De Rivera and Jash Manuel, our make up artist and photographer respectively. We then took a cab to the place. Christopher Lee (the shop owner) already e-mailed me some photos of the shoot location some days before. I always make it a point to ask this whenever I have a shoot so that we (make up artists, photographer, and me as the model myself) will know what to expect. We ended up shooting on the rooftop of an apartment somewhere in Makati.
The Makati City Hall! I’ve never seen it even though I spent a semester studying in Makati. Haha!
Here are the clothes! Aside from asking what the shoot location is like, I also make it a point to ask what kind of clothes I would be modeling (people call it peg) so that the make up artist and photographer can prepare for whatever theme the shop is going for. This particular shoot, however, is different. The owner asked me if it’s okay if he keeps the clothes a surprise, and only said it would be about “pastels and florals” Pastels and florals make me think of Spring and Summer, and since I was tasked to bring my own shoes, I decided to bring out my more colorful ones. I also added in black pumps just in case. They’re the most basic pieces of footwear and when push comes to shove, you can pair them with anything. :)
So here we go! All of the photos were taken by either Chris or Greg, by the way! Thank you for taking behind the scenes, you guys! :)
After shooting ten or so sets, it was time for lunch! Chris got us pizza! Perfect! Unfortunately, Thea (who has the best smelling make up brushes. I swear!) had to go early because she had another shoot to attend to (Naks. In demand!) She wasn’t able to eat lunch with us, but I hope to spend more time with her next time! She is an amazing make up artist, I tell you! She wouldn’t be the resident make up artist for STACHE if she isn’t! She is as good as she is pretty, and her red hair is just awesome! She actually texted “I’ve got red hair! You cannot miss it! ;)” when I was about to meet her for the first time. I’ve always secretly wanted red hair too, by the way. HAHAHA. Models eat too. Char! Haha! :P
Now back to work we go! By that time, there were only about six sets left. Usually Jash would be cranky cranky this time (hahaha kidding) but for some unexplainable reason (why I keep using this phrase for the past few weeks I do not know) he wasn’t! To be honest, this shoot was my funnest shoot so far. Maybe it was the clothes, the location or the shop owner themselves (becky convos at their finest!) I really do not know. But what I’m positively sure about is that I had fun, and I went out of their apartment a convert. Colors now appeal to me, and I will try my very best to incorporate color into my outfits from now on. :)

Reviewing the photos!
Jash always teases me whenever I do this pose. He calls it “Charlene’s signature pose” Haha!
And just before we were about to leave, Jash finally showed me the two blown up prints of the photos he took of me! He asked me to choose one! Can you guess which one I chose? Hint: You can find it on my sidebar! ;) Haha. Thank you Jash! You’re the best friend slash photographer ever!
